Interesting 300tdi alternator wiring diagram - This isn't the only bracket available on the market but. I purchased a simler bracket and belt off west mids 4x4 the alternative month. The kit comes plated (avoids the need for an earth) with the four mounting bolts for the plate and the 2 for the alternator. It even came with the belt, and concerned about £35 plus vat and p p. I outfitted the package in under an hour myself wireing and all as west mids actually have the looms made for an additional cost. I've performed multiple play days and the tail quit challange with it on and it has been ideal.
I am happy with my setup in the meanwhile as it offers an excellent redundancy if one alt gives up it is a case of unplugging it and patching the batteries together until you get lower back to service/camp and it may be swapped out.
I could add an isolator to the price cord and drop the belt off until required when off to an event the relay could be fused so i could pull the fuse to stop the charge lamp sparkling.
I am not certain which diode you're referring to. I have both a defender (200tdi) and disco (300tdi) and there are most effective 3 connections to the alternator in every case - (1) 12v to battery/starter motor (out), (2) dash warning lamp (out) and (3) rpm pulses to tacho (if used).
I have geared up a air cond|2nd
